Election of new Board of Directors
On January 19, 2022, a new Board of Directors and Executive was elected by the members of the Markham and East York Agricultural Societies annual general meeting. Amanda King, Markham Fair’s 2020 & 2021’s President thanked all the members for attending the meeting. Special thanks was given to members of the board who’s terms have ended; Doug Savage and Sarah Dunlop for their years of service. Amanda also welcomed new Senior Directors, James Drake and Devin King who moved up from a Junior Director position. Zoe Ducheck and Shae-Lynn Seeley Reesor were also welcomed as new Junior Directors with a one year term. At the Board Meeting immediately following the Annual Meeting, the new Board elected Brad Hulshof as President for the 178th Markham Fair in 2022.
Congratulations to the new Homecraft Executive for 2022! Announced at the Homecraft Annual General Meeting and elections. Congratulations to Hope Shier who will be Homecraft President for 2022 and take a seat on the Board of Directors. Welcome Allison Lyon to the new Executive! The fair members look forward to your years of service.
At the Markham Fairgrounds, we continue to follow all York Region Health and Ontario Ministry of Health guidelines.
To ensure the community’s safety, visitors entering our buildings must wear a mask at all times and are subject to a body temperature scan. Patrons who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 are asked not to visit the grounds.
Attendees at outdoor events must wear a mask in accordance with York Region Health Orders if a minimum of 2 square meters (6 square feet) distancing is not possible.
We continue to host warehouse sales and outdoor events, check our calendar of events for updates.
